ALUMINIUM CHIP TREATMENT

New project currently about to launch in the facilities of a Mexican company that carries out both machining and foundry processes. Its objective, a solution for the reduction of the size of the long chips, the reduction of humidity of the chip to later melt it and the recovery of cutting oils to later reuse them.

This project is made up of a centrifuge, a crusher and 3 conveyors (one for the entry of long chips, another one for the entry of short chips and one for the unloading of the material into the container).

The long chips are received in the hopper of the first conveyor, raising it in a dosed way to unload it in the crusher.

At the same time, the short chips are poured into the hopper of the second conveyor, which will join the already crushed chips on their way to the centrifuge.

Prior to centrifugation, the installation incorporates a vibrating screen to remove any type of piece or bar tip that goes along with the chip, thus avoiding problems in the centrifuge.

Thanks to the Cometel centrifuge, we manage to reduce the humidity level of the chip to minimum levels (≥ 97% of humidity is removed).

Finally, the material will be unloaded through the last conveyor. We incorporate a rotating tray at the end of it, a very useful accessory that allows us to distribute the discharge of the material evenly in the container.
